Relief Project Worker 

Salary: £9.08 per hour

Working Hours: As and when required

Details: To provide relief cover within Hadleigh Training Centre

Job Summary: 

Hadleigh Training Centre provides training opportunities to adults with additional support needs in order to meet a range of outcomes. The project worker will plan, and then guide trainees to follow personalised pathways which maximise progression through vocational training in a range of areas
including carpentry, horticulture, cycle maintenance, catering and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities: 

The project worker will:

  • Be involved in identifying and enhancing personalised training pathways to maximise progression, focusing on a trainee's strengths and opportunities to increase independence.
  • Create and update learning support plans to provide an awareness of each trainee's abilities, support needs, and agreed strategies to help trainees achieve their goals.
  • Monitor all assessments and reports, and complete any necessary actions, to ensure each trainee pathway is constantly accurate and relevant.
  • Encourage input and participation from each trainee, empowering them to make choices.

Catering Shift Supervisor 

Salary:  £8.90 per hour

Working Hours:  34 hours per week

Details: All hours are averaged over a 4 week rota including Saturday and Sunday

Job Summary: 

Hadleigh Farm Estate incorporates Hadleigh Training Centre, Hadleigh Tea Rooms, the Rare Breeds Centre and The Hub. As a shift supervisor you will be responsible for leading the successful service at the hub café and the tea rooms on a day to day basis. The post holder may move between areas within the operation depending on the needs of the operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily service operation, leading staff, trainees, volunteers and work experience placements in offering a successful service to our customers.
  • Supervise cash handling and till operations ensuring any variances are raised with the Catering Coordinator.
  • Supervise food safety in line with applicable food safety standards taking into account food storage, preparation and service. Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness across all areas of the operation.
  • Supervise effective stock management taking into account portion control, stock rotation and waste reduction.
  • Collaborate with Catering Coordinator in order to ensure that required provisions are ordered.
  • Assist with the delivery of the training programme by supervising trainees in line with work set.
  • To conduct positive performance meetings with Catering Assistants and General Assistants.
  • Ensure all catering equipment, machinery and premises are cleaned according to the cleaning schedule.
  • Attend mandatory training and other training when required.

General Assistant - Catering (FTC)

Salary: £7.99 per hour 

Working Hours: 24 hours per week - Fixed Term Contract until October 2019

Details: Monday - Thursday 11.00 - 17.00

Job Summary: 

Hadleigh Farm Estate incorporates Hadleigh Training Centre, Hadleigh Tea Rooms, the Rare Breeds Centre and The Hub. You will be part of the Catering team which serves the Tea Rooms and supports the Training Programme at Hadleigh Training Centre.

Key Responsibilities: 

To clear and wash up in all areas of the catering service: 

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Comply with health and safety requirements in the kitchen and other catering areas.
  • To undertake any ancillary duties associated with the catering facility as requested.
  • To undertake training as deemed necessary.
  • Perform any other duties as required to maintain the smooth running of the catering operation. 

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

  • Good customer relation skills.
  • Experience of working within the catering industry.

Catering Coordinator (Maternity Cover) 

Salary:  £23,555.32 per annum pro rata

Working Hours : 40 hours per week 

Details:  Mon - Sun 8.30 - 17.00 (5 over 7 days), up to one year maternity cover

Job Summary: 

Hadleigh Farm Estate incorporates Hadleigh Training Centre, Hadleigh Tea Rooms, the Rare Breeds Centre and The Hub. You will be part of the Catering team which serves the The Hub Café, Tea Rooms supporting the Training Programme at Hadleigh Training Centre.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide an efficient and effective service to customers and trainees, understanding their needs and requirements, working to exceed these where possible.
  • To construct a monthly staff rota allowing for the operational requirements of the business, annual leave and special events.
  • To conduct positive performance meetings and annual reviews, including the identification of training needs with shift supervisors and coordinate the positive performance process for Catering Assistants and General Assistants.
  • Ensure all provisions are ordered in advance and in accordance with budgetary guidelines. Item must be fit for purpose taking into account their use and cost.
  • To coordinate the development of menu's ensuring they deliver a range of suitable choices to our customers while offering the required level of financial return.
  • To carry out risk assessments and ensure high standards of health and safety as per Health and Safety Policy.
  • To observe all legislative requirements including those concerning fire, food and safety at work. Each member of staff should eliminate hazards to safety and to health and where this cannot be done the hazards should be reported to the Operations Manager.
  • Coordinate general business administration including creating invoices, stock takes, annual inventory accounts payable, staff annual leave/ lieu requests and other associated tasks.
  • Undertake other job related tasks as directed by a manager when required. This may include substitution for other posts within the catering operation.
  • Attend mandatory training and other training when required.
