 Relief Supervisor (As and when required - Weekdays and Weekends)

Salary: £8.37 per hour + 12.69%

Working Hours: Relief as and when required

Details: To support the mission of The Salvation Army by ensuring the smooth running of Hadleigh Farm Rare Breed Centre. To support the Rare Breed Centre Operations Manager in achieving conservation, education and training.

Job Summary: 

To provide supervisory cover for the Rare Breeds Centre during periods of absence and holiday. The ideal candidate will  be a strong communicator and be willing to take the lead. You will also be confident in handling poultry. You will be trustworthy, honest and responsible for cash handling, cleanliness and the Health and Safety of the farm. In addition you will be working in partnership with trainees from Hadleigh Training Centre. Applicants should be in sympathy with the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth running of the Rare Breeds Centre
  • To maintain a high standard of animal husbandry, welfare and health
  • Promote the centre through interactive group talks and displays
  • Assist with the administration and processing of school visits and leading educational talks
  • Maintain the site including grass cutting, hedge cutting and garden maintenance
  • Dealing with customer complaints and public concerns
  • The recording and banking of daily cash receipts and maintaining a float
  • Maintain awareness and observation of Fire and Health & Safety regulations and
  • policies at all times, and is part of the first aid team
  • Supervise and provide assistance and training for trainees from Hadleigh Training
  • Centre, kiosk workers and farm hand
  • Undertake training as deemed necessary
  • Undertake any other duties as required for the effective running of the Estate

Relief Catering Assistant 

Salary: £8.37 per hour + 12.69%

Working Hours: As & when required including weekends

Details: To cover Catering staff at The Hadleigh Tea Rooms & Hub Cafe

Job Summary:

Hadleigh Farm Estate incorporates Hadleigh Training Centre, Hadleigh Tea Rooms, the Rare Breeds Centre and The Hub. As a Catering Assistant you will be responsible for delivering the successful service at The Hub Café and Tea Rooms on a day to day basis. The post holder may move between areas within the operation depending on the needs of the operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide an efficient and effective service to customers and trainees understanding their needs and requirements, working to exceed these where possible.
  • To work across all areas of the operation including front of house, food service and food preparation in the kitchen.
  • Assist with delivery of the training program by supervising trainees in line with work set.
  • Observe all legislative requirements including those concerning fire, food safety and health and safety at work.
  • Cash up and secure premises.
  •  Be responsible for all public areas including toilets.
  • Attend mandatory training and other training required.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience through working in the Catering or Hospitality industry.
  • Basic qualification in Maths and English.

  • Good customer relation skills.

Project Worker 

Salary: £7556.70

Working Hours: 16hrs per week

Details: Monday & Friday 8.30 - 17.00

 Hadleigh Training Centre provides training opportunities to adults with additional support needs in order to meet a range of outcomes. The project worker will plan, and then guide trainees to follow personalised pathways which maximise progression through vocational training in catering and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

The project worker will work with a group of trainees and

  • Be involved in delivering and enhancing personalised training pathways to maximise progression, focusing on a trainee's strengths and opportunities to increase independence.
  • Use learning support plans to provide an awareness of each trainee's abilities, support needs, and agreed strategies to help trainees achieve their goals.
  •  Complete all assessments and reports, and complete any necessary actions, to ensure each trainee pathway is constantly accurate and relevant.
  • Encourage input and participation from each trainee, empowering them to make choices.

Relief Project Worker

Job Summary: 

Hadleigh Training Centre provides training opportunities to adults with additional support needs in order to meet a range of outcomes. The project worker will plan, and then guide trainees to follow personalised pathways which maximise progression through vocational training in a range of areas including carpentry, horticulture, cycle maintenance, catering and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

The project worker will

  • Be involved in identifying and enhancing personalised training pathways to maximise progression, focusing on a trainee's strengths and opportunities to increase independence.
  • Create and update learning support plans to provide an awareness of each trainee's abilities, support needs, and agreed strategies to help trainees achieve their goals.
  • Monitor all assessments and reports, and complete any necessary actions, to ensure each trainee pathway is constantly accurate and relevant.
  • Encourage input and participation from each trainee, empowering them to make choices.
